Assurance
1 These things I have written to you who
believe in the name of the Son of God, that

you may know that you have eternal life

and that you may believe in the name of
the Son of God. This is the confidence that

we have in him, if we should ask anything
according to his will, he hears us: and if we
know he hears us, whatever we ask, we know
that we have the petitions that we desired of
him. 2 Those that are led by the Spirit of

God, they are the sons of God.

For you have not received the spirit of bondage
again to fear; but you have received the Spirit

of adoption, whereby we cry out, Father. The
Spirit bears witness with our spirit, that we are
the children of God: and if children, then heirs;

heirs of God, and joint-heirs with Christ.
If we suffer with him, we will be glorified with
him. I believe the sufferings of this present

time aren't worth comparing with the

glory which shall be revealed in us.
