my mouth: it shall not return to me void,
but it shall accomplish that which I please, and
it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.

13 So then be doers of the word, not only
hearers, deceiving yourselves. For if any be a
hearer of the word, and not a doer, he is like a
man looking at his natural face in a mirror:

though he sees himself, he goes his way, and
right away forgets what manner of man he was.

Telling Lies

1 These six things the LORD hates: yes, and
seven are an abomination unto him: a proud
look, a lying tongue, and hands that shed
innocent blood, a heart that devises wicked
imaginations, feet that be swift in running to
mischief, a false witness that speaks lies, and he
that causes division among brethren. 2 A false

witness shall not be unpunished, and he that
speaks lies shall perish.
