P. 11
“This is my beloved Son, in whom I am
well pleased.”
And we heard this voice from heaven when we
were with him in the holy mountain. We also
have a more sure word of prophecy:
whereunto you do well that you take heed, as
unto a light that shines in a dark place, until the
day dawn and the day star arise in your hearts:
knowing this first, that no prophecy of the
scripture is of any private interpretation.
The prophecy in old times came not by the will
of man, but holy men of God spoke as the Holy
Spirit moved them.
But there were false prophets among the
people, even as there shall be false
teachers among you, who secretly shall
bring in damnable heresies, even denying the
Lord that bought them and bring themselves
swift destruction. And many shall follow
their destructive ways; because of which the
way of truth shall be evil spoken of.
