2 A certain man, which had devils a long time…
when he saw Jesus, he cried out, and fell down
before him, and with a loud voice said, What
have I to do with you, Jesus, Son of God

And Jesus asked him, saying: What is

your name? And he said, Legion: because
many devils were entered into him. And they
begged him that he would not command

them to go out into the deep. And there
was there a herd of many pigs feeding on the
mountain: and they begged him that he would
allow them to enter the pigs. And he allowed
them. Then went the devils out of the man, and

entered into the swine: and the herd ran
violently down a steep place into the
lake, and were drowned.
