concerning them who are asleep, that you
sorrow not, even as others who have no hope.

For if we believe Jesus died and rose again,
even so, those who sleep in Jesus, God will
bring with him. For this, we say unto you by the

word of the Lord that we who are alive and
remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not
prevent those who are asleep (have died). For
the Lord himself shall descend from heaven
with a shout, with the voice of the archangel,
and with the trump of God: and the dead in
Christ shall rise first: then we which are alive
and remain shall be caught up together with
them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air:

and so shall we ever be with the Lord. So
comfort one another with these words.

9 Behold, what manner of love the Father has
given unto us, that we should be called the
sons of God: therefore the world knows us not,
because it knew him not. Beloved, now we are
the sons of God, and it does not yet appear

what we shall be: but we know that, when he
shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall
see him as he is.
