First and Last
1 Who has worked and done it, calling all
generations from the beginning? I the LORD,
the first, and with the last; I am he. 2 Even for
my own sake, I will do it: for why should my

name be polluted? I will not give my glory unto
another. Listen to me, O Jacob and Israel, my
called; I am he; I am the first, I also am the
last. My hand has also laid the foundation of

the earth, and my right hand has spanned the
heavens: when I call to them, they stand up
together.

3 And when I saw him, I fell at his feet as dead.
But he laid his right hand upon me, saying unto

me, Fear not; I am the first and the last: I
am he that lives, and was dead; and, behold, I
am alive for evermore, Amen; and I have the
keys of hell and of death.

4 To him that overcomes I will give to eat of the
tree of life, which is in the midst of the paradise

of God. To the angel of the church in Smyrna
write; These things says the first and the
last, which was dead, and is alive; I know
