4 Thus says the LORD the King of Israel, and his
redeemer The LORD of Hosts; I am the first,
and I am the last; and beside me, there is no
God… fear not, nor be afraid: have not I told
you from that time, and have declared it? You
are even my witnesses. Is there a God beside
me? There is no God; I know not any.

5 I, even I, am the LORD; and beside me, there
is no savior. 6 I am Alpha and Omega, the
beginning and the ending, says the Lord, which
is, and which was, and which is to come, The
Almighty… and I turned to see the voice that
spoke with me… and when I saw him, I fell at
his feet as dead. And he laid his right hand

upon me, saying unto me, Fear not; I am the
first and the last: I am he that lives, and was
dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore,
Amen; and have the keys of hell and death.

7 And this is eternal life that they might know
you, the only true God and Jesus Christ, whom
God has sent. 8 So beware lest anyone spoil you

through philosophy and vain deceit, after the
tradition of men, after the rudiments of the
world, and not after Christ. For in him dwells
