Bridegroom
1 And they said to Jesus, Why do the disciples of
John fast often, and make prayers, and likewise
the disciples of the Pharisees; but your disciples
eat and drink? So he said unto them, Can you

make the children of the bride chamber fast,
while the bridegroom is with them? But the
days will come, when the bridegroom shall be
taken away from them, and then they shall fast.

2 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ

also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the
washing of water by the word, so that he might
present it to himself a glorious church, not
having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but
that it should be holy and without blemish.

3 Let us rejoice and be glad and give the glory to
Him, for the marriage of the Lamb has come
and His bride has made herself ready. 4 And I
saw the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down
out of heaven from God, made ready as a bride
adorned for her husband.
